LISBON–
the city of many faces
|
 |
Start
off your Portugal holiday in Lisbon. But before you head
for the Algarve, to Faro or Évora,
you must take a look at this city. Especially in the spring and
late summer, Lisbon is wrapped in a warm light. The city district
of Belém, with its tower of the same name, awakens memories
of a time when unknown lands were discovered by daring mariners.
The fascinating thing about Lisbon is the variety
of its architecture which reflects the cultural mixture: the alleyways
of Alfama have a Moorish touch, the Mouraria quarter is Arab and
the Rua de Judiaria is part of the former Jewish quarter. There
is nightlife until sunrise in the Bairro Alto and the best place
to shop is the Rua Augusta. And with the low prices that Germanwings
offers, there’s enough money left for shopping.
You should also visit:
Faro, Sintra, Lagos and the da Arrábida National Park
